Isha Sharvani's name literally means Goddess Parvati, or the one who is married to the God of Dance, Shiva.
Born to renknowned danseuse Daksha Seth and Vissaro, an Australian musician, composer and photographer, art was in her blood. She began her formal dance training at the age of seven and has learned Kalaripayattu, Kathak and Chau as well as gymnastics, martial arts, yoga, ballet, aerial dance and more.
Mixing the elements of all these skills, Isha has, with her mother's help, developed a unique style of dancing that leaves people awestruck. Little surprise therefore, in the fact that she has performed in twenty-two countries over the last seven years.
Isha never gave much priority to acting in Bollywood until she was spotted by Subhash Ghai who required someone with talented dancing skills to perform in his movie Kisna (2005). He offered her a main role in the film opposite Vivek Oberoi. The film did not do well but her dance performances were appreciated. Isha went on to sign Shyam Bajaj's Rocky opposite Zayed Khan and the Hindi comedy Darwaza Bandh Rakho in 2006. Both the films did not really fare too well at the box office but that has not stopped producers from lining up at her door. Isha's latest release was Subhash Ghai's Good Boy Bad Boy.
Grace personified, Isha is not just a pretty face trying to make it as an actor; she is an artist who exemplifies allure and poise, articulating with her body what cannot be put into words.
