It all began for Bipasha Basu when she won the Ford Supermodel of the World contest at the age of seventeen; she was also named Tulips Miss Super Vivacious. Bipasha made her acting debut with Ajnabee. The film was fairly successful at the box office and producers queued up to sign her for their movies. Selective about the characters she signed up to play, Bipasha became a rage after a couple of subsequent films. She attracted attention with her roles in Raaz and Jism. Both the films were successful at the box office and Bipasha became Bollywood's latest and biggest sex symbol.
Bipasha went on to explore comedy as a genre; success came in the form of No Entry and Phir Hera Pheri, both hits at the box office. Bipasha's acting prowess however came to the forefront with Madhur Bhandarkar's Corporate, where she essayed the female lead character.
